Discovering and confirming VAT accounts
Accounting scheme and partial exemption
Two questions that decide whether Onzli can calculate your figures.
Last reviewed 25 October 2026Onzli only calculates figures for standard VAT accounting where all your input VAT is recoverable. For anything else it holds the figures back rather than calculating them on the wrong basis.
The two questions
Accounting scheme
- Standard (VAT on invoices issued and received)
- Cash accounting scheme
- Flat Rate Scheme
Is any of your input VAT not recoverable (partial exemption)?
- No, all of it is recoverable
- Yes, some of it is not
- Not sure
Answer both under the VAT setup step, enter your authenticator code, and choose Save.
What happens with each answer
- Standard, all recoverable: figures can be calculated.
- Any other answer: the setup shows a finding explaining that figures are held back for that basis. Nothing is calculated on the wrong basis, and nothing can be filed from it.
If you are not sure which applies, ask your accountant before answering.
